For my Granny.. The most amazing woman I've ever known <3

In Loving Memory..

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered,"Come to Me"
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away,
and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay.
A Golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove us, he only takes the best.

[This poem gets me everytime & I miss her so badly it physically hurts, but this poem is so beautiful it just about does her justice..]

November 19th 2008'.

DJ Ray Dartley launches Age Action Ireland's, "Positive Age Week".

Popular Irish DJ, Ray Dartley, helped launch Age Action Irelands new initative, Positive Age Week at a tea party in the Merrion Hotel yesterday (18.11.08)

Positive Age Week will run from Monday 8th - Sunday 15th December 2008.
The central aim of the week is to dispel the many negative perceptions surrounding ageing and to transform attitudes. It is also an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the charity.

Deputy chief executive of Age Action Ireland, Lorraine Dorgan encourages people to take part, "We need to celebrate the fact that we are living longer; that ageing is not a burden, but an opportunity."

Age Action Ireland is the national independant organisation on aging and older people. It's main aim is to improve the quality of life for older people, especially those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable, by enabling them to live full, independent and satisfied lives for as long as they wish, in their own homes.

To register as a fundraiser for Positive Age Week, contact Lorraine Dorgan on 01 2345678 or visit www.ageaction.ie

Having a Gay old time..

DARYL'S BLOG.
http://darylleavy.blogspot.com/
^My Best Friends blog. It's a must see - if only for the "Mess in a dress" and "Oooh, tap that" features.
He only started it because I have one [and he wants to be 'down with the kids' and stuff..] but I love it so far.
He's posted all his posts so far on the one day lol but I'll annoy him and tell him to get his ass in gear :P
SO, go follow his blog - you'll love it too.

I'm sick. I've been saying it for ages, but THE SICK GOT ME.

But then again, walking home from Luna at 3.30am Sunday morning with my coat in my hand instead of on me, how could the sick NOT have got me. silly, silly me.. :(
Got the flu/headache/sore throat/ear ache/neck ache combo - not good.
I've got plenty of solphadine on the go though, so I should be back on form in a few days *fingers crossed*

Living for the 'Study Week' that's coming up next week - a chance to lie in and enjoy a little daytime TV in my pj's, followed by as much studying as I can handle.. AKA; not. a. lot.
I'll do my best tho, cause then.. IT'S CHRISTMAS. Finally :D

Speaking of Christmas.

The Late Late Toy Show last Friday was an utter disappointment, to be perfectly honest. Now, I can't stand Pat Kenny at the best of times, but seriously, could he be any more detatched from the kids??! Poor sods. He has no connection with the children, no interest in what they're saying/doing and really doesn't cope well with the whole "audience participation" thing.

I watched it tho, & I would watch it even if the pope was presenting - it's tradition like.. but honestly, even just bring back Gay Byrne for the Toy Show alone. That's all I ask, do us all a favour. [It's the only time I watch it anyways..] ;)
I'm all for starting the "Bring Gay back for Christmas" Campaign. Ooooh, the whole class should do it as an assignment - how awesome would that be.
If they can bring back Wispas, Wibbly Wobbly Wonders, & Zig and Zag, then we should have no problems! Lets get to it people..

^^^ RAWR. sexy. :P

*Note: I searched youtube for a clip of Gay Byrne presenting it, but there doesn't seem to be any, which is kinda tragic. Gutted.

Well, over and out.

Some videos I love to laugh at..

They're well worth a look.. :P

Okay, okay.. I think that's enough - I need to get out more lol.

Enjoy,
xx

P.S: Desperate Housewives was sooo good tonight - I wanna know what's going on though?!
Guess I'll just have to watch ahead online... shuuuush ;) x

Random Update, if you're interested..

XFactorMary-Rose told me to write about X Factor. Everybody's writing about X Factor, so I don't think I will..
BUT, Woo Hoo?! Daniel's gone. Deeee-lighted, I am :P
Rachel for the boot next week & I'll be happy.

Okay, thats all I'm saying on the matter :D

I've come to the conclusion, that blogging's really hard. I get really paranoid when Colin's walking around, so I tend to go on a writing spree in the library whenever I get a chance. lol [This one's done at home tho :D ]

CocaCola Christmas Looking forward to Christmas?!
Yay, can't wait. Love this time of year.. wish I had the money to show it. Funds will have to be raised before presents start being bought.
It's my first nephews 1st christmas this year too, so that's something to look forward to :)
Was in Dublin today - carols & lights & decorations all over the shop..
Was cool, yet scary at the same time.. December 25th is fast approaching people!

McFly was brilliant, thanks for askin'.. :P
The show was unreal. simple as.
No cost was spared in the production of it - there was a huge futuristic set, pyrotechnics, flames, crazy lights, confetti, backing singers and hilarious videos throughout the concert.
There was supposed to be a moving stage, but I guess the RDS was just too small or something, but it didn't make the gig any less entertaining. SO MUCH dancing was done that night, it was crazy.
I took along 4 friends with me, 3 of which weren't exactly fans of the band - fun was had tho & opinions changed that night. :)
I made friends with a few girls on the bus & nobody had one complaint about the night - Music was quality, atmosphere was electric and the banter between the guys was hilarious. legends.
I highly recommend checking them out on their next Irish appearence ;)

Here's some of my pictures from the night:
[They're a little bit crap, but can't be helped.. ]

Feels like I'm writing in a diary, it does..

On another note, college is taking over my life. Assignments are due in the next few days/weeks respectively & It's driving me slightly crazy.
I'm tired all. the. time. SERIOUSLY. I've ''Sleep apnoea'', I think.
Therefore, COMING SOON TO A CORRIDOR NEAR YOU..
Me, Belinda Clarke, suddenly falling asleep in a crumpled heap on the floor..
Future blockbuster, you just wait and see.. =]

Saw High School Musical 3 for the 4th time last night with a group of friends. An hour and forty minutes filled with pure cheesy goodness & It gets better every time.
Don't judge me, Zac Efron's in it. If that's not reason enough, I dunno what is.

On the other hand, a different group of friends & I went to see "Quantum of Solice", the new James Bond flick, on Friday night at 11.45pm. James Bond really isn't my thing. I haven't seen one James Bond movie in my entire 18 year existence, resulting in quite a different reaction from the High School Musical goodness.
I fell asleep. Fast asleep.
I stayed awake for the first 10 minutes which involved a rough looking Daniel Craig [Ewww, by the way] chasing another guy over rooftops in Italy. *Cue lots of noise; gunshots, buildings falling apart, cars, etc. etc.*
I felt by then that I'd shown some interest and paid my penance.. SO I put up my hood, curled up in my chair & proceeded to sleep for the next 2 hours. :D good times.
Felt much better for it & didn't feel bad about missing a crap movie - sorted.

Going to see McFly in concert tomorrow night :)
[Yeah, this, along with my earlier High School Musical admission proves that I'm a big child.. can't be helped]
My third time seeing McFly & they always put on a good show - contrary to popular belief. Can't wait.
It's in the RDS in Dublin AND it's standing..
Lots of little kiddies to stand upon.. could be dangerous. haha..

Virtual Communities

"A virtual community, e-community or online community is a group of people that primarily interact via communication media such as newsletters, telephone, email, online social networks or instant messages rather than face to face, for social, professional, educational or other purposes. If the mechanism is a computer network, it is called an online community. " - wikipedia.

Love em' or hate em', they're there & EVERYONE'S got one.
or so it seems..

I've got a love hate relationship with bebo.
Love the fact that it keeps me in touch with my friends in a fun, fast, free and ever expanding & changing way. Hate the way that it gets kind of addictive, is full of fakers and spammers and is used in bitchy, bad & dangerous ways.
I'll be the first to admit that I have mine automatically logged in, so it's simply 1 click & you're in. [No need for signing in every. single. time.]
I also admit that because of the above, it results in me checking it everytime I come within a 10 foot radius of my laptop. Purely habit, obviously, but it drives me crazy!

Bebo's become the most widely accepted social networking site, in my opinion. I've no clue of facts or figures, but it seems that actually everyone I know has an account. no matter how old or young, no matter what their interests may be..[EVEN MY MOTHER HAS ONE. crazy stuff!! I would put a link here, but that'd be wrong.]
Other Virtual Communities like MySpace or Facebook just don't seem to have the same popularity, in Ireland anyway. MySpace seems to be a thing of the past - I haven't used mine properly in about a year. Facebook has been around for a while but hasn't quite taken off as much as the bebo phase, either that or people haven't heard of it properly yet, who knows.

Loving the fact that virtual communities are getting better & better - introducing music, videos, applications, gadgets and instant messaging to their services. As much as I do moan about it, I pretty much am addicted [like everyone else.. :P]

Signing off,
Belinda xx

Alrighty then.

So, here goes...
This is my new blog for Online PR class, within my Public Relations course at DKIT.
Combined with PR writing, I'm gunna be continueously assessed on the content of this & it's gunna go towards my grade at the end of the semester.
Not sure whether this is the greatest idea or not, as I'm a huge ranter & don't wanna make a fool of myself infront of 'the whole world' [as Colin says lol] but obviously, I'm gunna give it a go..

wish me luck,
xx
